Mr. John Brown is an accomplished safety leader and currently serves as the Director of Environmental Health & Safety for Volt Power LLC. Mr. Brown started his career in the electrical power and construction industry from the “ground” floor starting on the generation side of the business as an hourly employee.
Over the past twenty plus years, Mr. Brown has held progressively more responsible positions for large Investor Owned Utilities including Southern California Edison, Tucson Electric Power and Sharyland Utilities. More recently, Mr. Brown has endeavored on the Engineering Procurement and Construction side of the business where he managed the North American Operations of EHS for Asea Brown Boveri (ABB).
During his career Mr. Brown has held various positions in health, safety and training and continuously applied a passion for leadership and continuous improvement in each and every endeavor. Mr. Brown holds to the belief that humility and serving others is one of the greatest qualities that a leader can possess and further that great leaders have the single greatest impact on the health and safety of individuals and the safety performance of an organization. Mr. Brown has never forgotten the influence that his mentors and leaders have had on him, and strives to pass those lessons and learning on to others.
Mr. Brown holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University and a Masters Degree in Adult Education Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Brown served honorably has a member of the United States Marine Corps prior to his career in the electrical power/construction industry.
