He started his career in mining 26 years ago in the Industrial Safety department of the mining company American Pacific Honduras Inc. El Mochito Mine in Honduras as an instructor of the area, he also conducted training consultancies to other mining companies.
Later he moved to Santa Rosa de Copán to work as Industrial Safety Coordinator with the company Greenstone Minera of Honduras, and in 2000 he started working with Glamis Gold in the San Martín mine hired as Industrial Safety Manager, being in this mine the fusion between Glamis Gold and Goldcorp occurs.
At the close of operations of the San Martín mine, he was transferred by Goldcorp to the Los Filos Mine in Mexico as Manager of the Department of Safety and Environment, for his performance he is transferred in 2015 to Minera Peñasquito in the same position, after The sale of the Los Filos Mine to Leopold returns in 2018 to the position of Safety, Health and Environment Manager, which he currently holds.
Juan is a specialist in Safety doing a master’s degree in occupational risk prevention and certifications in Organizational Industrial Psychology, Business Development, regulatory studies currently developing a Doctorate in Safety, Health and Environment.
